   I live in Plimmerton & have been to this fish n chip shop on occasion, it is very hit and miss, sometimes the food is okay & other times not so good, I do like their homemade corn fritters tho and yes the owners are grumpy & their customer service is tragic, unless their kids are working who always appear to be friendly..... I don't really understand why they have been voted the best or have queues outside the door??

   Very Disappointing. We waited 1hour for a small order. As we were standing watching they proceeded not to pack our order and let it sit out for 20minutes until we had to tell them this was our order as they mucked their own system up. Once we tried to explain the food had been sitting their for 20mins and we had placed order over an hour ago. they both become angry and raised voice at us saying no "you just ordered, and its not their problem" the lady of the fish shop then was squeezing the hotdog yelling "its still hot" while continuing to grab with her hands she just had money in. They did offer a refund however if we did not take the food.....which we had waited for one hour for. Once we did eat the food it was dead cold and I would say some of the worst fish and chips I have had. To add while I was waiting for my order I watch the service also become annoyed at another costumer (visitor to NZ) just for asking questions about the batter. I think this place needs to improve on costumer service and if they cant handle the heat employ more staff to help out, and DONT grab costumer food in that way when you have been handling money! I agree with ldewi003, once they have your money they don't care about the costumer

   I could not disagree more than with idwi003's comments. I have used Plimmerton Fish Supply for about 20 years now and always found their fish and chips superb. In fact the reason why people can have a long wait is because they are so popular. And yes this can be annoying for new customers BUT if you phone orders in advance they will give you an approximate time when they will be ready. I have also seen a few frustrations of customers vented on the proprietors which have seemed quite unreasonable to me. As the shop owner once said to one such customer 'Its worth waiting for something good!'. I'll be phoning my order in for tonight!!
