Somerset Cottage Restaurant first opened in 1986, and continues to be run by Rick Lowe in the kitchen and myself, Anne Butcher out front, along with a team of special people who(TM)ve been here with us for a while.
The restaurant is open for lunches Wednesday to Friday and dinner every night except Mondays.
In addition we run cookschools from our restaurant kitchen, together with the occasional more epic excursion, further afield.

As a local I have dined here many, many times over the years and the one thing that Somerset Cottage is, is that it's totally consistent. Consistently good food, wine, service and atmosphere. It is our favourite restaurant and we always dine there for special occassions, special get togethers, romantic dinners, or just because. It's fine dining, without the pretence, at it's best.

One of the very best Tauranga has to offer and well worth the trip from the Mount. Very well presented food and a good selection of wines. Knowlegable and experinced staff- a dining experience not to be missed

A fine dining opportunity not to be missed. We have enjoyed the special ambiance and hospitality of Somerset Cottage several times and have always gone away happy with all aspects of the experience. We happily recommend Somerset Cottage to our friends safe in the knowlege that they will enjoy their visit as much as we do. "A reliable restaurant".
