Wellesley Street
Established in 1963 Tony's Wellesley Street is Auckland's oldest surviving restaurant. For well over 40 years, Tony's has been serving hearty portions of good kiwi tucker, specialising in steak and seafood along with many other inviting options.
The atmosphere is reminiscent of an old English pub, cosy and inviting. Many have commented over the years that Tony's has never changed, and they'd be right. The meals are made from the best quality food we can source, and the food is prepared by expert chefs who have been with us for years. The only things that have changed over the years is the carpet (sometime in the 70's) and the staff!
Tony's Wellesley St is perfectly located for a quick weekday lunch or a bite to eat after work of before heading off to the surrounding theatres, movies or local bars. Tony's is also located within walking distance of many major city hotels.
Bookings are recommended.

Tony's suits me fine. It's old (so am I) and reassuringly trustworthy. (Does what it says on the label) Not a place to 'hang out' or to see the 'A-listers'. Just a damn fine restaurant that offers good value for money. The steaks are classic- seafood & pasta dishes - all completely 'retro'. When I go to Tony's I feel that tiny frisson...a reminder of how it feld to 'go out to dinner' to 'have a night on the town'. I like the woody decor, the friendliness, the decently filled plates. And those desserts bring out the child in me.

This restuarant is similar to Lord Nelson's on Victoria street. Slightly different things on the menu which is good!! The buffalo wings are very spicey and will enjoy if you like it spicey. Had lovely yummy food there for my birthday and resonable pricing.
