A great place to get a fish meal in NP, as the highfry in the 80's it was also our family Friday night haunt and was outstanding. I now look back on the fish poster wall decor and plastic flower backlit indoor garden display with great fondness. Love it.

Unexpectedly great seafood. Must try the seafood platter (grill) for 2 people. The oysters are just fantastically cooked and juicy.

While I was in New Plymouth for the Womad Concert in march I was taken out to Marinovich's for a meal. I believe this was once called the High Fry. .Many years ago. I used to go there as a child with my father for our weekly feed of fish.( In the 1970s) The place may have changed hands. but the fish and service is still one of the best in New Zealand. And I look forward to the next time I am in the north Island so I can return for some true Taranaki cuisine Dinglis Timaru.
