Established in 1998, Sawadee is a dining destination on Ponsonby Road.

It serves authentic Thai cuisine from the four main regions of Thainland: Northern, Northeastern (Isaan), Central and southern. Sawadee has something to please every palate as its food encompasses a range of flavours and taste sensations, from hot, cool, spicy, sweet and sour. Many of their meals are accented with a subtle addition of aromatic herbs.

The decor of Sawadee with its use of lush vegetation and elaborately carved wood is refelective of traditional Thai architecture. The resturant also contains a unique atrium water feature and has a function room for private dining.

Sawadee's menu includes, among other items: Hill Tribe Curry (pork stir-fried with basil, capsicum and lime leaves in a tribal curry sauce), Khow Tom (traditional rice soup with chicken prawn or vegetarian options) and Poh Pia Pug (vegetarian spring rolls).

    Service and food @ Sawadee was perfect. Only complaint was it was a bit hot in the restaurant, felt like I was in the tropics. Value for money meals.
