I love either poping in here for a quick beer to sit outside in the sun or to go for a nice meal with my partner. The food is always amazing and I always leave feeling well fed and happy. I often go for one of their specials and have never been let down.

These guys were really busy when I arrived, but they looked after me well. When my partner was late, they advised on quick food (we were going to a show) and got it all done on time and tasty, tasty!! Quite a jolly atmosphere, really.

Came here for an early dinner with 4 people a few weeks ago. This place always looks really busy when I walk past- so getting in early was a good idea! Started to get really loud and busy around 6.30-7, but we had a cosy table in the corner which was good. Food and wine were stunning! I really enjoyed my burger (Wagyu beef burger, with fries). It was simply but the sauce was really tasty. Cheap and very filling. Would definitely come again (at a reasonably early time though!).

Once upon a time, there was girl who lived in Wellington. She loved to eat out all the time. Sadly unbeknown to her, these happy days were to come to an end (otherwise known as the recession). She would find herself at the mercy of friends still employed for her "dinning out" requirements. One friend in particular loved the Tasting Room, however, she did not share his passion for the place, as she has once owed a Restaurant, and knew what boring and mediocre food really looked like (no matter how well it was garnished or presented on a plate). It wasn't that the Tasting Room really did anything wrong, it just failed to do ANYTHING exceptional. In an environment such as Wellington, where we have more restaurants per capita than New York, one would think that they would lift their game slightly. But as they say location, location, location, will always win the day. The food is by no means spectacular, however, it is palatable. The atmosphere is pleasant enough and the beer is cold. The waiting staff are attentive and polite. As I'm sure you are already aware I am constantly under whelmed by the food at this establishment, however, the price is right (approx $25 for mains - which is acceptable). So if you're not really a foodie and you are in a rush to get elsewhere, then this is the place for you.

Fantastic atmosphere, meals were served fast by a lovely bubbly waitress. Range of drinks was extensive, vegetarian meals available too. The whole experience was just really pleasant . Would definitely go back.

Great tapas! Perfect for a pre-show meal or catch up with friends over a few drinks. They usually do the Monteiths Wild Food challenge and the meals are always interesting!
