Mekong Neua introduces Auckland diners to the distinctive cuisine of Laos and Northeast Thailand - a region defined by the Mekong River that flows between the two countries.
The restaurant is set in the heart of Kingsland and has professional friendly staff and a great atmosphere.
The Laos and Northeast Thailand cuisine tends to be spicy and has a number of differences that gives it a distinctive style of its own. All the Mekong Neua dishes can be mild, medium or hot according to individual tastes.
Mekong Neua is proud to be associated with "BEERLAO" from the Lao Brewery Ltd of the Lao PDR. Mekong Neua through an associated company is the exclusive distributor of Beer Lao in New Zealand.
The Lao Brewery was established in 1973. Malt, 70% plaisant and 30% prisma, is imported from France and Hallertauer Magnum hops from Germany. Rice 'adjunct' is used in the brewing process, ensuring an easy drinking, lighter, yet full of strength, pilsner style beer.

Fresh, fast and delicious! I went for a Friend's birthday dinner and we had a great time sharing the amazing banquet. I am looking forward to a return visit!

Delightful staff, beautiful food! Try their Larb, a flavoursome Lao/N.E. Thai dish. Good value for money, and a lovely open fire. At times I end up very thirsty afterwards...I do wonder if they use M.S.G.?

Great Thai restaurant, the food is very tasty and the service is great. Takeaway is equally as good as dining in.
