To be honest, I could go to Prohibition and not eat anything and would be amazed by the place. The old 1920's and gangster feel it's so amazing I could walk out of there feeling that I've been to one of the coolest places in town. Every time me and my friends go there is for the low-tea, and we always have a great time. The little rolled pavlovas are to die for, the small scones and deserts come down as a massive treat. Love the variety of teas offered and the service is top. Have to go back to Prohibition with husband for a try on the dinner menu, but whatever you do there, going in is definitely worth it. The staff are absolutely amazing, and dressed to the occasion. I really can't find anything to fault Prohibition [and I'm being honest!].

I was lucky enough to spend the evening of my 21st birthday here and it was simply wonderful. Brilliant staff, stunning atmosphere. The attention to detail is perfect. The best restaurant I've been to in New Zealand. My father and other guests all felt the same. VERY good wine. Special occasion or out to impress? This is what you're looking for.

I love how this restaurant has a 1920s theme. It's very cool, quirky and makes for a unique dining experience. Stepping inside is like another world. You can choose to wear your finest 1920s threads, or just dress to impress for a night in Ponsonby. My friends and I decided to go along to High Tea for a birthday treat at 2pm Saturday (they call it Low Tea at Prohibition), and it was one of the best high tea experiences I've had. Delicious food, impeccable service, and a highly sophisticated environment. Gluten free options available, champagne options available and a fabulous overall dining encounter. Check it out. Bookings recommended.
