MARKBRESLIN
Shocking service! We went to the Buffalo Bar & Grill Takapuna last night, with a table booked and a voucher I bought through daily do for Ribs, Salad and Garlic bread. The garlic bread that turned up on the table was basically plain toasted bread, with no garlic butter and a side of tar-tare sauce for dipping? False advertising. We waited 40 mins with no service, while our flamboyant waiter ignored us as he minced between the kitchen and the empty bar. A couple next to us had eaten their entree, main and ordered dessert, in this time. We ended up walking out in disgust, I rang manager the next day to get my money back, I forced an apology out of him and he offered a free meal, I wouldn't want to eat there again for fear of them tampering with the food, this place needs to go to fair go or target. The service was friendly and efficent and the meals came out pretty quick - which I thought was pretty good for 3 people running a mostly full restaurant and the pricing was very reasonable. However I was very underwowed with the meal. I ordered the eye fillet - wish I hadn't I requested medium rare and got medium well done, it was chewy and not much flavour the other diners in my party both ordered the venison, again it was chewy and very small portions and tasted as if it was cooked from frozen. Salads were pretty bog standard - though I did like the potatoes. we didn't stay for dessert. won't be back.
