Went to Takapuna Thai for the first time during a recent visit to AKL and took a couple on their first visit to AKL with me who were equally as happy with the food and service. It was a cold, wet and windy night mid week and they were the only restaurant we drove past that had more than one table occupied. That was all the recommendation we needed. I have been to Thailand several times and love GOOD Thai food, this restaurant did not disappoint. They serve arguably the best green curry I have had anywhere outside Thailand. The entree's were also fine, a mixed one was shared by us. My only complaint would be that the food is not spicy enough BUT I can stand more heat than anyone else I know. Just ask them to make it hot or mild as and how how you like it. Staff are friendly and attentive as with any Thai people. Bottom line - I enjoyed it so much that I ate there twice more during my 5 day stay, sampling different dishes eac time. I am returning to AKL again in 3 weeks, with my wife this time, and will most certainly be eating there again.

always been my favourite thai restaurant. has best money bag and pad thai ever, perfect for my taste. I and my boyfriend visit here like monthly or every 2 month for diner and wine, and also for family or friends gatherings. friendly staff and good food. worth to try out

Went to Thai Takapuna on Monday night. Monday is usually a quiet night but was pleasantly surprised to see quite a few people dining here. . . . as it was also a cold, wet, windy night. We had a party of nine, ordered some drinks, chatted and relaxed, and then ordered our meal. The service was excellent - we all got our entree's at the same time - they were lovely . For the mixed entree we asked if we could have the chicken satay instead of the fish cakes but this was not an option. The mains were beautifully presented - lovely crockery but more importantly, the food was divine. All nine of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Didn't try the desserts - couldn't fit it in ! The manager was lovely - so friendly. We had a great time ! Love good Thai food and will definitely be going back to this restaurant.
