The Tai Tapu Hotel Restaurant & Bars is a unique country hotel. Nestled at the foot of the Port Hills surrounded by tranquil country side, the Halswell River & over looking the picturesque Tai Tapu Golf Club.
The Al-a-carte restaurant has a wide selection of divine meals. From the lighter salad options to an excellent selection of for example Denver Leg Venison, Garlic Chilli Prawns, Lamb and everyones favourite Pork Belly. The restaurant has gained a name for "THE BEST" Pork Spare Ribs.
Platters and wines in the Seltered Courtyard are another specialty of the Tai Tap. The seafood platter to share, frequently doesn't get shared "IT'S THAT GOOD".
Weddings and Functions are cattered for at the Tai Tap,
The Sports Bar has live rugby, juke box, pool table, raffles, dart board and TAB pod.

Tai Tapu Hotel

We booked and arrived on time - we waited over an hour for mains to be served, the duty manager was not interested when I queried the delay. When our meals arrived, the food was cold and not very nice. we have had great meals here in the past but the attitude of the duty manager and the quality of the meal in this instance was disappointing. I emailed the resturant weeks ago - they have not had the decency to reply to my concerns

Food is standard pub grub, the dining room is nice I found the food to be a little expensive for somewhere out of town.
