Pastis Bar and Restaurant
French Restaurants128 Victoria Street West Auckland Central Auckland 1001
Pastis is first a genuine family story with the kiwi/French couple Lyn and Alex Roux , Alex Vitelli the omnipresent maitre d` and Olivier Dechaise the new head chef from Dordogne.
Enjoy an authentic French experience at Pastis, a Parisian-style bar / brasserie in the heart of the city, with genuine French food, French wine and French staff.
Pastis is the name of a popular aniseed aperitif liquor from the south of France " many a time the world has been changed by friends over a glass of oejaune (yellow)! Pastis serves popular classic French food for lunch and dinner " cuisine that everyone loves.
This is the perfect place for a business lunch where, in a busy atmosphere just like in St Germain, you can enjoy steak frite, salade nicoise or a savoury galette. Dinner is more elaborate with snails , cassoulet or fish surrounded by amazing creative composition sauces.
The wine list at Pastis is a real tour de France as well as including a stage in New Zealand.
Every Friday evening is Pastis time to enjoy ~un ricard tomate(TM) (pastis cocktail), one absinthe, a Chablis or a Bordeaux, listening to Tracey, the lively piano accordion player.

Great service, reasonable prices for good honest French food. We went there for Valentine's day dinner, the atmosphere was great, lovely music and full of little details. The girls were given a red rose! At moments I felt I was somewhere else, until you look to the street : ).
