In 1912 J.J. Boyd's zoo opened in Royal Oak with lions and all manner of exotic creatures. Before long one of the lions decided to escape - only to be recaptured by Mr Boyd's son. We've named this estabilishment The Zookeeper's Son, as a reminder that sometimes you need to be let loose....
A modern, stylish and relaxed venue designed for meeting up with family and friends to enjoy a refreshing cold Heineken or other fine NZ beer (with 15 beers and ciders on tap), or a glass of wine (we offer over 30 wines by the glass) and a range of good value meals - wtih something for all the family.
Upstairs there is a fantastic private function room - Tree Tops - perfect for your next celebration or meeting. Or hire out the Mezzanine Level - an open plan space suitable for a range of set ups.
