Bought a coupon off Grab One. Found service very 'O.T.T' and waiters trying to 'upsell' with their over attentiveness. Food was very basic. The risotto was the worst I have ever had anywhere! A large bowl of gluggy rice with a sprinkling of chilli powder and five prawns thrown in. Inedible. Staff did query when my full bowl was collected and said they had a new/temporary chef. One diner had also requested a change in her dish when ordering (actually replacing the risotto for mash)but plate arrived with the rissotto. They did take it away and change for mash but the dish was still a very unflavoursome meal. They did return later with complimentry ports for the four diners, but as two were non-drinkers it would have been nice to been offered an alternative rather than just present them. Overall - not impressed. Won't be returning ever again.

Albany is not somewhere that we would normally travel for dinner (living in Waitakere), but had a couple of hours to fill in on Wednesday night there, so booked into Caffe e Cucina and very glad we did - how lucky Albany dwellers are to have such a great restaurant on their doorstep. Couldn't fault the service or the food and want to make particular mention of the Duck & Mushroom Ragu Pappadelle - absolutely superb! An impressive winelist with something to suit all wallets and pallets. Look forward to the next time we have an excuse to spend time in Albany.
