Villager Restaurant & Bar
Bars, Brasseries & BistrosCome and discover Villager in Remuera - this gem of a bar and restaurant is a local's favourite. This is the social hub of Remuera and the eastern suburbs - where friends and family come to relax over a hearty meal in a smart, casual environment.
Bi-fold doors open up the front of the bar, making it a refreshing, cool hide-away from the summer heat, while in winter, two wood fires keep it warm and cosy.
With a hearty, satisfying menu, Villager caters for everyone in the family, for lunch, dinner and weekend brunch. And Villager offers the complete range of Monteith's beers (on tap and bottle), plus a fantastic wine list where you'll be spoilt for choice for wines by the glass.
Enjoy a casual meal in the bar while watching the must-see sports games. Or if you're after more secluded dining, Villager has a cosy private dining room with its own fireplace - a perfect place for business lunches, private dinners or cocktail functions. Other areas of Villager's bar and restaurant can be sectioned off for groups and functions.
Villager - a few stories, a little food, some great beer!

3 of us decided to give the Villager a go. We'd heard about the wild food - goat they had on the menu. Unfortunately they'd run out however the rest of the menu was plentiful . I ordered the Angus pure fillet which was absolutely devine, my steak was cooked to perfection, rear, melted in my mouth. The hash certainly complimented as well did the egg and bearnaise. I can still taste it now, YUM!! I'm going back. Atmosphere was good. The service was great, friendly and helpful, genuinely interested staff. To top it off I finished with the delectible Villager fourless choc cake - devine with a capital D!! I would recommend eating here. I tried the cider which was refreshing and pleasant to drink. The three of us enjoyed our meals, very content full tummies, a good night had by all 3 of us.

The Villager is the place to go if your in the mood for a beer and some good hearty pub food! I have visited a number of times after work on a Friday - the atmoshphere is always good and the service is great. Be aware - if you order the item on the menu simply called "9" (a selection of dips and breads) ensure there is more than two of you to share this platter - it is huge!
