People have been coming to Mangere Bridge tavern for years
The Mangere Bridge Tavern has been one of the centre points of the community since it was built in 1968.
Originally named The Mangere Bridge Tavern or as the community referred to as “The Lazy Lion” it was the flagship Hotel for the Auckland Lion Breweries in the late 60’s and in the 70’s renamed The Black Bridge Tavern.
Today you can enjoy a quiet beer or even a nice bite to eat at our upstairs facilities at the Mangere Bridge Tavern. Or if you like you can wander on down to the Wanderers Sports Bar downstairs at the facility to enjoy a game of darts or pool.

We have live music on Thursday and Saturday nights.

We also host 8 Ball competitions dubbed the 'Tribals' in which local clientle representing 10 New Zealand Maori Tribes play in teams of 6 every second Sunday. This competition has been running for over 15 years.

On a Friday night, you can test you sports, history and general knowledge with our quiz night. We also have a dart club, social pool club, fishing club, and social touch team made up of staff and clientele from the Wanderers Sports Bar.
Additional information:
We have a courtesy van operating Thursday – Sunday and a 22 seater charter bus available on request. Often used to transport the social pool club or fishing club to rematches or Fishing Competitions.
