The Riccarton Lone Star cafe and Bar is located in the Heritage Building 'the Bush', protected by the Historic Places Trust. Instantly recognizable, the faade has changed little since it was established in 1865, when it doubled as a hotel and horse training stables.
The Riccarton Lone star welcomes you for a meal and a quiet (or loud!) drink in it's beautiful Johnny Cash Bar- decked out with memorabilia where you can relax to the sounds of Country Music legends whilst waiting for your table.
The Lone Star Riccarton restaurant has something for everybody, and we look forward to the pleasure of your company soon.

I went here a few weeks ago after New Year, we had to wait 30min for a table but that gave us an impression that it was a popular restaurant and we didn't mind waiting. The staff were friendly and professional. The meals were HUGE, i thought the pork was quite dry and hardly had no sauce on it. Overall experience was great, good value for money and would diff re visit but will ask more sauce!!! :)

Absolutely fantastic restaurant. We have been to the Lone Star Riccarton several times on a Friday night and have always come away extremely happy & satisfied. The staff are always so friendly & helpful and are prepared to go the extra mile to make sure customers are happy with their meal. Kids also get a colouring in picture & crayons and a free drink & dessert which is great! The meals are absolutely delicious especially the Honky Tonk Chicken (my fav!!!). Also got a free dessert on my birthday :-) Can't wait to go back to this awesome restaurant again!!!

Food is standard themed americana style, can over fill your plate with potatoes to make it look like you have an enourmous meal, however the potatoes are a little dry and you can get sick of eating them pretty quickly. never had a problem with with service which is always a good standard
