Excellent food, excellent service - they did however run out of the speciality desert and given we were the first table to sit for lunch I thought this a bit odd - did they forget to make a new batch that morning? I was however lucky enough to get one of the remaining deserts and all I can say is that it was delicious!!!! By far the best I had eaten this year - creme brulee

we wanted somewhere special to go for dinner, Hippopotomus was an excellent choice, the staff were unobtrusive but friendly and informative; the entrees were excellent a lovely soup in shot glasses with little mountains of seafood on the side, our main courses were absolutely delicious, the steak was tender and cooked to a perfect rare for me and medium reare for my companions; the deserts were spectacular, I indulged in the crepe suzette which was a performance as well as the desert it was delicious. Well done Hippopotomus while we still miss Il Casino for our special occasions you are right up there. We have been three times now and the food and service are outstanding.
