Having traded in Auckland for 32 years, Hees Garden Seafood Restaurant has always been recognised as an icon in Chinese dining. Located on the city fringe, it is the only Chinese Restaurant on Mt Eden road and caters for local residents, corporate patrons, and international travellers among others.
The traditional Chinese decor and authentic Cantonese cuisine attracts customers for all occasions. Ample parking space on site certainly makes it easy for the busy diners.
We pride ourselves on being a family owned business and continue this tradition as we present our newly created function room. The beautifully decorated rooms can seat up to 40 guests. It is equipped with a 50” flat screen TV, surround sound stereo system and a karaoke machine. Having enjoyed a ten course banquet complimented by a collection of fine wines, you may even have the courage to sing a few songs. Large and Small functions can be pre-arranged. Hees has experience in a range of functions including wedding receptions, birthdays, office parties and graduation dinners. We can also facilitate out catering.
We pride ourselves on our consistency of quality and service and we are now more devoted than ever to providing the greatest authentic Chinese dining experience available in Auckland yet still preserving its unique surroundings.
We have also made big changes to our Yum Char menu, with the addition of two top Chinese dim sum chefs.

-We entered, the manager didn't so much as glance up. -Several tables hadn't been cleared. -We had to seat ourselves. -Other parties were served before us (only difference, I'm sorry to say, was that we were not Chinese and they were so they spoke the language) -It took several minutes to get someone to take our order. -Once our order was delivered we asked for sauces and the server just tossed the bowls on our table. -Servers didn't look happy to be there. -When we asked a busboy to take our order he said we would have to wait until someone could come take our order. Didn't offer an apology, or to call someone for us, or so much as a kind tone. Abysmal service. Food was only okay. Hence 1/2 a star.

Very impressed with the quality of food and dishes at first visit on 12/1/13. However, corkage charge of $2.50pp is a bit too much, especially if dining with a party of 6 or more. A fair charge could be $5.00 per bottle as in most restaurants around Auckland. Plan to return soon.
