This restaurant has gone seriously downhill since our last visit! This was probably the worst meal I have ever eaten in Takapuna in 15 years! For a start, the lady (Manager, possibly owner?) did not inform me that the meal I ordered was actually different from what the menu said. Meal was less than average. My partner ordered the eye fillet med-rare. It came out very rare, was tough and chewy with gristle running right through the middle of it (not sure if it was a real eye fillet or a cheaper cut that had been shaped to look like eye fillet). His meal was meant to be served with bearnaise, it came with a bad version of hollandaise, and an extremely dry potato gratin that seemed days old. The waitress was very apologetic but the manager who took our order did not once say sorry. She didn't charge us for the steak, but we had an entertainment card that gave us a free meal anyway, so we ended up with no discount! We left our meals uneaten and went down the road to another place for a second attempt at dinner! An expensive let down!!

My wife and i have dined here fairly regularly for breakfast as the food and service has always been pretty good.
