Pay day still too far away and you’re looking for a bargain meal? We’ve all been there my friend.
Fortunately, we’ve chosen October to launch our all-new “Hot deals in Wellington” segment, highlighting only the best deals and special promotions at Wellington restaurants, bars and cafes. Better late than never, huh?
If you know of any great deals or you own, run or work in a Wellington restaurant, café or bar and you’d like to be featured here next month, you can let us know in the comments below or get in touch with us via Facebook or Twitter (tag your tweets with #menusnz we’ll retweet the best ones).
And now, the hottest deals of the month in Wellington…
The crew at Shed 5 on Queens Wharf must be feeling generous, because they’re serving a banquet lunch deal for just $35.
That’s right, a four-course lunch with a complimentary drink for only 35 bucks – and it features mouth-watering porcini chicken roulade with spring onion mash for the main and almond, date and ricotta crepe for dessert. This special offer ends 31 December.
Is Pita Pit the new Subway? Every day of the week Pita Pit is offering a small “pita of the day” for $7 and $9 for a large one. The flavours change with the days, but our favourites are steak on Tuesday, BLT on Saturday and bacon and eggs on Sunday.
Touchdown Tuesday: catch the latest NFL action at Arizona bar and grill on Grey Street and grab a plate of ribs to share and two Budweisers for just $25. Arizona offers plenty of other Tex Mex classics, too – including burritos and 24hr slow-cooked New York steak.
At Chilis you can grab any curry (except prawns), rice and naan for just a tenner at lunch time – and it’s only $5 more to takeaway during dinner time. How’s that for a sweet special to help celebrate Diwali in Wellington?
This Irish pub in central Wellington has a different special every day of the week – but our favourite is Sol Saturday, when you can get four bottles for $25. JJ Murphy & Co’s fish and chip Thursday special is worth a look, too, served with a complimentary beer or wine for $17.50.
The Grand has a Great British Sunday roast special every, erm, Sunday, and it costs just $17.50 for all the trimmings. Or try out its two-for-one special on stonegrills every Monday. Succulent pieces of meat served on piping-hot volcanic rock, yes please!
