Monday night could almost be the new Friday night! Well, maybe not given that it’s the start of the working week, but there are certainly a fair few things to do if you’re up for going out. We’ve done a bit of research and discovered venues in Auckland with great meal deals, special events, open mic and comedy nights. You’ll be cured of Mondayitis in no time!
The Mexican Café introduced a touch of Latin flair to Auckland 30 years ago and continues to entertain and delight. With a fun, festive vibe, mouth watering Mexican eats and a large drinks list that includes an impressive selection of tequilas, The Mexican Café is a great venue for groups. It’s open until late, perfect for that spontaneous Monday night party!
Head over to Mt. Eden’s De Post Belgian Beer Café on Monday night for Half Price Mussel Mania. Grab a Leffe Blonde and enjoy a pot or platter of tasty mussels (they' normally cost $19 a platter). You’ll need a loyalty card (if you don’t already have one) to take advantage of the deal, but don’t worry, it’s absolutely free to sign up for one. Simply ask the bar staff next time you visit De Post.

You don’t need to cook – especially with The Flying Moa at Mount Wellington offering all-you-can-eat ribs for just $21.50 every Monday night from 5pm. And just to tempt you a little bit more, it has free pool from 5pm.
Head down to Mexicali Fresh for $7 margaritas and $10 taco salads on Monday nights. Sounds like a nice way to start the working week to us!
If you live out east and don’t feel like cooking, head down to O’Hagans in Highland Park and grab one of their fantastic 2 for 1 meal deals. It’s good hearty pub food: lamb shanks, burgers, BLATs and bangers n’ mash.
