Hunt and Fish Expo 2012

The Hunt and Fish Expo 2012 is dedicated to two quintessentially Kiwi pastimes which also provide the basis of some great  fine dining dishes.

If catching, shooting and fish, birds and beasts is your thing then you won’t want to miss this event which takes place in Napier from 28 to 29 July.

This expo is your one stop shop with dozens of stands exhibiting the latest and best in hunting and fishing paraphernalia.

A big highlight this year will be a clay pigeon shooting arena provided by the Hawke’s Bay Clay Target Club which is hosting the event. There will also be demonstrations by the experts and you’ll have the chance to try the goods before you buy them.

Hunting and fishing is a big part of New Zealand’s heritage and is closely intertwined with the tradition of culinary excellence and innovation in our fine dining restaurants.

Here’s a selection of restaurants with a reputation for serving excellent fish and game:

Gantleys, Queenstown

Pacifica Restaurant, Napier

Kitchen at Hotel de Brett, Auckland
