Hot Red Hawke’s Bay 2012

Hot Red Hawke’s Bay, the region’s highly anticipated annual showcase of red wines is also featuring white wines for the first time.

The event will take place in:

At Hot Red Hawke's Bay event you’ll get the chance to talk to winemakers and sample more than 100 wines from 20 plus Hawke’s Bay wineries.

Hot Red Hawke’s Bay is the country’s largest regional wine expo and the range of labels represented demonstrates why the area has acquired a reputation as the wine capital of New Zealand.

According to the organisers it would be impossible to see this number of wines in one place, at one time, anywhere else.

Many of the wineries taking part in the expo this year have been involved since the inaugural event in 2004.

Hot Red Hawke’s Bay has become a landmark fixture on the regional and national food and wine calendar.

It attracts a wide cross section of visitors including media people, hospitality industry and wine trade representatives and, of course, the wine loving public.

Over the years Hawke’s Bay red wine varieties such as Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon have consistently been recognised for their quality, picking up a number of industry awards.

Hawke’s Bay is also well known as a producer of top notch Chardonnay. White wine styles making an initial appearance include Pinot Gris, Gewurtzraminer, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and Viognier.

Come along to the Hot Red Hawke’s Bay expo and  find out just what makes Hawke’s Bay wines so special.
