Internet access, when you’re on the go, is a must these days.
You may be having a coffee or a bite to eat, but there’s always work to catch up on, friends to catch up with and online shopping to be done.
Fortunately there are quite a few cafés out there now that offer free wi-fi access. So, to help all you high flyers, “netizens” if you will, we’ve compiled a list of such places.
Java junkies can also get their net fix at this funky Kingsland hangout. Wi-fi is included in the cost of your purchase, so settle in on one of their big couches and surf to your heart’s content.
A relatively recent addition to Ellerslie’s small but thriving café scene, Gasket Espresso Kitchen used to be an auto workshop, a theme which has been maintained with the current fitout. They do a smooth coffee and an excellent range of counter food, as well as free wi-fi.
Enjoy some classic English comfort food and a couple of the Cock’s excellent locally brewed ales. Wi-fi access is free for patrons.
Need to do some quick research on your plant purchases at the garden centre? No problem, you can use your laptop at the Chocolate Frog Café at the Palmer’s Garden Centre in Miramar.
Island Bay’s Cheeky Pipi Restaurant & Bar serves a delicious menu of New Zealand and Pacific Rim cuisine and a comprehensive range of local wines and beers, including Wellington’s own Tuatara. And, after dinner, get out the laptop and surf, surf, surf!
Café Kudos serves all day breakfast and is also licensed. Kudos offers wi-fi and also has a meeting room and conference facility, which makes it a great option if you’re after a more informal venue for business meetings.
Enjoy a sumptuous meal next to Lake Wakatipu and afterwards grab your laptop and go for a surf. Tatler is open for breakfast lunch and dinner from 10 am.
Catch up on the news, work…if you have to and all the goss on social media at this popular café and boutique chocolate shop.
Each of Esquires Coffee’s 46 outlets throughout the North and South Islands offer free wi-fi with any purchase, so grab a coffee and settle in!
Most of New Zealand’s 140-plus restaurants offer free wi-fi. The great thing is, you don’t even have to buy anything!
