All foodies love the thrill of discovering a new dish, new restaurant or new shop to buy provisions for their own amazing culinary creations. Auckland company Finding Flavour was established to introduce Kiwis to the world of flavour that exists in their own backyard.
Lynn Huhtala and her team organise discovery tours for foodies, mainly in and around Auckland. They delight in introducing customers to unique markets, food and wine suppliers and people who share their passion for quality food.
The tours typically include lots of tastings, opportunities to talk to artisan food makers and visits to suppliers to pick up ingredients, so you can recreate the dishes you've tasted.
Marvel at the amazing diversity of ethnic and artisan food available over the Harbour Bridge. Just a few of the highlights, from among the many you can expect are:
• a visit to a German bakery
• a Halal butcher
• a Middle Eastern foodstuffs supplier
• a friendly family-run South African deli
• a French bakery
• Asian food shops
• Kiwi coffee roasters and chocolate makers.
