Restaurants open Easter Weekend & ANZAC Day

Due to the law permitting business trading hours over Easter and ANZAC Day, many of your favourite restaurants and bars around New Zealand will be closing up shop on these public holidays.

But if you’re keen on dining out, we’ve found a number of restaurants who will be open for Easter weekend and on ANZAC Day in 2013. Please note opening hours may vary from their usual times and surcharge will most likely apply unless stated otherwise.

Auckland

SkyCity restaurants, central Auckland

The nice people at SkyCity Auckland have ensured us that all of their restaurants will remain open at Easter and most of them will open on ANZAC Day, although some will have revised hours (see below). As always, there will be no holiday surcharges imposed on diners.

Depot will open at 11am and SkyCity Auckland's Deli & Noodle Bar will be open after 1pm on ANZAC Day, as will Sammy's Place. Rebo, Fortuna and Jade Dragon will be open as usual; The Grill by Sean Connolly will open for dinner and dine by Peter Gordon will be closed all day.

Check out our guide to the best SkyCity restaurants and bars – and our guide to Auckland venues with no surcharge over Easter.

Bolliwood, Ponsonby

Bolliwood will remain open over Easter and on ANZAC Day – with no holiday surcharge to boot. Check out its tempting $10 lunch special, available every day of the week.

Euro, Princes Wharf

Celebrity chef Simon Gault’s restaurant Euro will remain open over Easter. Drop in for some amazing Bluff oysters – while stocks last.

Acacia Restaurant & Garden Bar, Ellerslie

Visit Acacia restaurant in the Novotel hotel in Ellerslie, Auckland, for some Easter family fun. Enjoy a stunning seafood buffet on Good Friday from 6pm to 10pm for $55 per person with a complimentary glass of wine or beer.

On Easter Sunday, enjoy an Easter buffet brunch and an egg hunt around the Acacia garden bar from 9am to 1pm. It costs $35 per adult and up to three children aged 0-12 years dine free when accompanied by two adults. Bookings are essential.

And it's open on ANZAC Day, too.
