It can be easy for forget that there’s night life beyond Auckland’s CBD, but head across the bridge to Takapuna and you’re greeted by some of the best bars, cafes and restaurants that Auckland has to offer.
If it’s a meal with a view that you’re after then you’ll be in good hands at Takapuna Beach Café. This cafe, situated on the promenade with views over Rangitoto and the Waitemata Harbour, is what some are referring to as the best thing that’s happened to this area in a decade! Pop in for lunch and be treated to the most amazing crumbed lamb fillet or, if you’re more of an early bird, every item on their breakfast menu is to die for!
Dine in Wildfire in Takapuna and you’ll discover a piece of Brazil right in the heart of our fair city. Words of warning though, go here with an empty stomach because you will be fed until you can feed no more! They do a selection of Churrasco Dinner packages whereby waiters continuously slic long skewers of succulent meat are constantly and deliver them to your plate until you can eat no more!
Other great places on the Shore include the very entertaining Diakoku Takapuna – Teppan Yaki and its amazing lunch specials. This is a great place to go with a group of friends. Watch as they cook the food right in front of you!
